Awarded contract as result of a national RFP to perform an EMS system review and make recommendations for improvement for this Borough of 60,000 residents in a 26,000 square mile wilderness area. Project involved the evaluation and incorporation of volunteer responders, evaluation of the effect of federal reimbursement changes and review of EMS system structure. Initial study and recommendations completed in June, 2000. Report to Borough Assembly completed in October, 2000. Study resulted in improved revenue, improved response times and performance using 9 volunteer agencies contracted to the Borough Public Safety Department under a public utility model system design.
